THE DEVIL, ME AND JESUS

THE DEVIL, ME AND JESUS

A Poem by DONALD EISSLER
"

( still trying to win my soul back from the devil) third of four parts

"

I need to find the Devil,

I know he somewhere near.

Though my hands are shaking

Of him I do not fear.

.

I now have something with me

Which I did not have before.

It’s my faith in Lord Jesus

And it has been restored.

.

I had played with the devil

In a game I could not win.

I played cards with devil

And I knew it was a sin.

.

“Is it him your looking for “

Voice came from the bowls of earth.

Ground then seemed to open up

As like it was giving birth.

.

The heat was so stifling

Could not catch my breath,

My chest I felt on fire

Thought I was close to death.

.

Then suddenly before me

An evil figure did appear.

Said “I’m the devils messenger,

Want to make this very clear. “

“Devil sent me to inform you,

Another card game he will play.

But the anti will be even more

Than it was that other day."

 .

"If you anti up your life

He will anti up you soul.

But if you lose the hand

Your life he will control "

.

“I have no life without my soul”

To the messenger I replied.

“Let that devil deal the cards,

I have something Holy on my side."

.

The messenger he disappeared

Through a crevice near

Left not with a smile

But with that evil sneer

.

So now I sit here waiting

To make my final stand

When the devil me and Jesus

Will play our final hand .
