Aegean Eyes

Aegean Eyes

A Poem by Amanda Marie
"

Song about a boy who didn’t love me

"
Eyes exact shade of the Aegean
Framed sapphires above his nose
Still waters run deep
That’s why he can’t sleep
All the turquoise has turned him morose.

Cuz you, keep me up, at night
I toss and I turn, it aches and it burns,
And nothing feels alright.
I close my eyes, but I still see, your smile
Like I’m in a dream, but God I can’t sleep
And it’s been like for this for a while.

Lord take away all my sadness
And those other emotions too
Cuz it hurts not to know
And I’m afraid that it shows
All this love that I carry for you

Cuz you, keep me up, at night
I toss and I turn, it aches and it burns,
And nothing feels alright.
I close my eyes, but I still see, your smile
Like I’m in a dream, but God I can’t sleep
And it’s been like for this for a while.

And I desperately wanted to ask you
In those hours that you can’t sleep
When you’re lying awake
With every sigh that you make
Do you ever think of me?
