The Cycle

The Cycle

A Poem by Anand Sehgal

Expectation gives birth to selection,
Selection triggers a blind bias ,
Bias gives birth to opacity in sight,
Opacity begets doubts of all forms ,
Doubt leads to fragility ,
Fragility leads to destruction ,
Destruction leads to ashes ,
Ashes incubate the Phoenix,
The Phoenix ignites the expectation again.

very thought provoking. expectations sometimes brings disappointment with them. sometimes its just dependent to the fate and sometimes because of our actions. yet another expectation rises within us the moment the former dies...human nature!!

loved the way you have penned it. thanks for sharing.

Another interesting write. I like the almost "list like" form of this one that sort of just bleeds down the page. Sure, we could attempt to break the "cycle", but as you have shown, at least metaphorically, from the ashes of defeat we are often reborn stronger and with more substance...as the pheonix rising. Funny, I have a piece called "The Cycle" here as well...though it is a bit of a different take on the same idea. Well done.

Thanks a lot dear, my idea was to indicate towards a never-ending loop of illusion :)
it always comes back to expectations...i wish we just wouldn't have them at all...in relationships especially..then we could just be pleasantly surprised by whatever good comes our way..

i like how phrases lead into phrases ..nicely done there.

Yes Jacob, expectation is a tough thing to get rid of. Illusion starts from there. Thank you for rea.. read more
so lets break the cycle and be free in demanding no expectations and see where that leads..
lovely little write...

and I could also see this working in the downward step formatting similar to your etcetera series
only with the last line set back...but that's just me--I like the effects of visual formatting. This structure will hold though. :)
