"Walking Midnaught Paths..."

"Walking Midnaught Paths..."

A Poem by Chris
"

Sigh

"

I've gotten notes from a few - some are just taking a break - others got tired of some 'tudes… and a few really died - most have entered the universe of memory.

“Walking Midnaught Paths…”

Life as we live it.

So many chase…

sometimes even a dream

sometimes without a clue

sometimes relief from their own darknesses

…any tomorrow at all.

Some find hope

some …heart.

Some find their fears,

others a sunrise.

AND WE …

breathe and wander

our own paths

while we witness

their existence in passing.

Chris

Come by anytime.
Journeys, Everyone is on one, even those sitting, looking out their windows. Smiles are always a nice gift to give, and receive.
Crossroads, intersection; deadends are curious to me, for my eyes see something beyond them...

Chris,
Always a pleasure to read your thoughts.

I like your pausing with me.
closing verse is strong says i! all of the life in the preceding verses connect me to what is most human about us .. our fears, hopes and dreams .... and the chasing ... but in closing it feels almost like ghost lives passing ... it feels like cold spots ... seeing, noting and passing right on by ... whew! poignant and thought provoking poem for me, Chris ... thanks for sharing

The problem that all of us have, is that we think we have time; we don’t consider how fickle it is. Seldom are we reminded of our transience. Nicely written.

They say 'life is how you make it', and while everyone finds more or less what they're looking for, there are still those who just keep on a forever chase...
Good observation here, Chris.

Nice seeing you...and your thoughts.
We watch and we reach for more than we are, and hope of what we may become –– mayhap we will honor those whose "paths… we witness" with compassion and a better future.

YVW 🌞
Time is ethereal
Masked by the concept there is always more
but, there isn't
For some more than others, for others less than those
Pick something that time will change its composition
and consciously decide to visit
before the chance is gone

Is it yesterday yet?

so very, very true Steph...
and each time we lose someone close to us, someone in the family or a friend, we think of our own mortality...problem is that is when we think of it...and all the other time we forget to make the most of the days we have here...we are too busy rushing to and fro to jobs and other things, and bickering and just being miserable...we do touch others...and we need to remember how important that is.
And yes, margie has a beautiful smile, Chris...you are so right...
and she is a youngster...but yes, our age group...suddenly 90 is no longer the norm...more like somewhere before 75...you make us stop and remember those we have lost here for one reason of another...and the thoughts come with appreciation for what they gave us.

Last week, a 61-yo local died of "natural causes" . . . a photographer, people loved his work posted on FB for free enjoyment. I'm not concerned about my own mortality, but since I turn 63 this week, it seems weird to find myself among an age group that's regularly kicking off from "natural causes" lately! Your poem reminds me of how, at this late point in our lives, old people tend to be like ships passing in the night (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Margie, you're a 'youngster' - and a great smile too.
On life's rich journey passing through, we will meet many. Some we will remember fondly, some we will stay in touch with and some we will forget, or would rather forget. That's where your lines took me Chris. I stopped to pause after reading to reflect on my own journey. I liked where you took me.
