Swelling,
tidal waves of
ferocious intensity,
hurdling toward
infinity in the shape
of rocks and bluffs,
tied to the whims
of a faceless moon
I am water
tears falling
from a silver sky
dancing for only
the time it takes
to dry me up,
but still I drop
tirelessly soldiering
through the endless night
I am water
placid in pools,
calm in countless
lakes and ponds
where I house life,
create life and give
life to beings desperate
with a thirst that only
I can quench
I am water,
the giver and taker,
the ever malleable substance
that rages and in the same breath
falls silent, drifting,
soothing, feeling
This is wonderful! Thank you for writing this tribute to one of the things we most often take for granted - that giver of so much life! WATER! All hail water! Wonderful write!
*stands*
CLAP, CLAP, CLAP, CLAP, CLAP, CLAP, CLAP.
this was real kewl to read. love your insight and the correlations you create between water and universal life. i'm sure a few of my friends will appreciate this poem as well but each of them as individuals will find their own sense of beauty within your words... the magic of poetry :D
It is a very elemental piece that captures well that certain duality that exists in water. Yes, yes, it will be so cliche to say but c'mon, one cannot deny how well the work flows as it captures and releases that duality upon us.
I love this. The rhythmn is amazing, and it's all very peaceful. The first stanza is my favorite, especially the phrase "tied to the whims of a faceless moon". great job!
