Revenge

Revenge

A Poem by Arundass TP
"

Some times, earth revenge

"
No where to go:
Nothing to do;
No one to hear;
In the abyss of darkness;
Thunder and lightening
Raining heavily;
Flooding;
Heavy winds;
Lost hope;
Floating on a log
Time seems infinite;
A helping hand;
Strange it seems
Saw nothing;
Heard only roar of earth
Shaking each human destiny.

These lines remind me how mother nature can turn and bite hard when we least expect it. She can be as a gentle as a whispered breeze on a summer day or as viscious as a tsunami destroying everything in its wake. Thank you for posting. Nice poetic description.

I love your poem & how it reminds me of all the ways the earth is crying out, here in California where we've had really bad drought followed by horrendous wildfires. But I also read your poem as a statement about the number one terrorist threat in the USA -- racial violence. Those who feel dismissed & devalued are lashing out, just as mother earth lashes out becuz of our thoughtless domination. This poem invites a ton of intense interpretation (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

It seems like the weather is taking revenge upon your dark mood... loneliness, lost hope.

In the west, we have a way of disconnecting ourselves from nature be it from social or societal conditioning this "disconnect" has a price, one that has a double edge cut it allows us to be less conscious of our environment in the actions we take and then it also makes us less conscious of our place within it... that we are a part of it, and as such we need to nurture it as we would any part of us. That is what your lines reminded me of

"Floating on a log/ time seems infinite".. Wonderful line to describe the helplessness when nature shows it devastating face. Thunder, storm, incessant rain can be so ruthless at some time that humanity can not help but think how fragile they are in front of that fury of nature.... Nice poem

I love the last line. So breathtaking and powerful, and the title really grabs the reader's attention. A wonderfully written, epic poem.
