My mother was the most distressed when she found out about my god parents and it wasn’t because of who they were but because she thought she was losing her baby. I assured her and my father that I was their son as much as the day I was brought home. Which seemed to calm my mother. My father was his usual impassive self.
Khadin Giges looked at his son, and the large Tiger beside him. “We’ve no room or time for horses or horse sized things” he said matter of factly. Sha’zul chuckled. “You are the second one to feel threatened by me my son.” He huffed “I will sleep on the floor of Tyr’s room as I used to in ages past” Khadin stood up. Falling naturally into a fighting stance. “I am no child of yours. I know my father and my father’s father and the names going back for 6 generations. And nowhere does it say Sha’Zul” Tygon tapped Zul on his massive shoulder. “You’re supposed to be wise and that’s the second fight you’ve picked today” he said surprised “First the king and now my father” He gave the big cat a looked that screamed fix it. “My apologies Khadin, I meant no offense to my remark. We Sha are the originators of your Astral people. Many of the races today owe much to the cataclysm and Tyr for causing it. He shook his head. “I literally just stopped telling Marcus all the details. Another time.” Said Tygon walking away. Khadin’s suddenly looked at Sha’Zul. “You threatened the king?” Sha’Zul nodded and went to speak before a garbled scream sounded from Tygon’s bedroom. All three adults ran towards Tygon’s room. His reason for scream and panic evident. Where Tygon should be stood a man shaped blob of water. Translucent features that identified it as Tygon. His screams sounding as if from the deep and the water bubbling with his panic. “Help him” screamed his mother. Khadin shrugged, still worried but at a loss as to what to do. Sha’zul though knew what to do. “Na sarn, iakul” He said reverting to the assundran tongue as he did when talking to Tygon. “Da na tor, Tygon’s voice almost complacent. The bubbles of panic subsiding. Tygon took the same stance he did in class. Hands a fist space apart and concentrated. Slowly the water solidified. Faster and faster until where the man shaped water stood. Now stood an ice shaped Tygon. “How does that help the situation?” Yassminnah’s panic getting the best of her. Sha’Zul looked back to her and then to Tygon. “You are calmer now?” he asked. Tygon nodded. “I want you to do the same again but this time visualise yourself. Channel yourself as the element” The ice from creaked as Tygon gave the large tiger a quizzical look. And yet nodded and began concentrating. He thought of everything that he was. “I am Tygon Giges, son of Khadin and Yassminnah. I am Tyr, son of Merra and Resinagon. I am me” His final words caused the ice to explode outwards showering Zul and his parents. And yet revealing Tygon in all his normalness. His mother crash tackled him. Hugging him fiercely. Turning to Sha’Zul as she did “Thank you for saving him” © 2022 Ky |
