PETUNIA PURPLE

PETUNIA PURPLE

PETUNIA PURPLE

My ancient mountains

Embracing valley

Kissed with haze

Mottled with gray wash within their folds

Yet today the sun’s fire burnt the film

That clouded their grandeur

My mountains flaunt a green carpet

Blue aquamarine hues in the distance

Spellbound and lucid

They scintillate in the sun’s luster

Alas, at dusk, they boast a petunia purple

Lovely review Soren, thanks very much

Perhaps the mountains could be a metaphor for humanity, with blue aquamarine hues scintillating in the heat of the day, gradually decomposing to "petunia purple" at dusk. Nothing lasts forever, which is why we must enjoy such sights while we can.

A beautiful poem Betty to capture those petunia purple hues at dusk.

They scintillate in the sun’s luster.

I particularly like your word choice in the above line. Your posted image is gorgeous. A fine write from your talented pen. Hope all is well with you.

dearest Betty... Petunia Purple describes the mood that brings our day
to softly pray in shades of blessings for Hearts that need a place to rest...
where Lady slippers and Jack in the Pulpits knell on green moss to mourn
the loss of forest folks who have passed. May we always keep their memory close. gently, Pat
