Awakening

Awakening

A Poem by M.H. George

Sometimes the clarity filters through this haze and I can't accept this could just be a phase that will only leave me wanting. The more I resist, the more I persist in this perpetual race to find the truth in someone's eyes. Past transgressions may have stifled this longing, but the passion is strong and I feel bits of my fragmented insides begin to become whole. Questions lead me to your door and if I knock will you remember how to explore the intricacies of a wounded soul? Those days of battle far behind but still the scars remind me the pangs of war are never far from my mind.

I'm put together yet a mess at the same time. Never fully understood and a bit too intense for my own liking. Seeking happiness while still embracing sadness. Trying to just figure s**t out like every.. more..
