Cure for Humanity

Cure for Humanity

A Poem by Jay Rose
"

My own little philosophy on how we can make the world a better place.

"

Take one piece of the
human soul

Wipe off
the painted surface

Substitute GREED
for
GRATITUDE

Replace RIGIDITY

with ACCEPTANCE

Choose to SING
instead of staying
silent

Even is no one else is
speaking
Even if that makes you
“different”

You won’t be
alone

And the friends you
find
will be the
TRUEST
you’ve ever had

So substitute CONFORMITY
for
BRAVERY

And you will find true

HUMANITY

The order of choice as presented is confusing and diffuses your point, or the point I think you are aiming for.
As written the poem seems (to me ) to advocate conformity in lieu of bravery. Also the active verbs "substitute" and "replace" precede what I see as undesirable choices. Then immediately follows: "Choose to SING instead of staying silent"
A positive alternative, completely non-parallel in construction to the alternatives which come before and after.
I really hope this makes sense.
