You and Me

Starting out so long ago,

I wasn't sure about us.

Hoping for the world,

Yet expecting nothing.

We grew together you and I,

And now I know

You are my wings to fly.

When you look at me,

With eyes full of raw emotion.

I can see your soul,

The dark, sad, burning

Hole in your heart.

Is growing brighter,

Day by day.

Our souls connect,

Hearts beat in time.

Catch your breath

And I'll catch mine,

As our hands intertwine.

Close your eyes and lean into me,

Take the lead and just kiss me.

Nothing big, nothing deep,

Just enough to make me see,

That you love me.
