"

Thank you Dryden for your poetry. Gave me reason to write today.

                              Poesy

                    (For Dryden)

True Poets dodge the fakeness of fame.
They allow praise to fall from their thoughts.
Old Poets understand the beauty of the sun rising from the east.
Allowing opportunity for new dreams and new places to come alive.

They enjoy watching the sun falling into the western sea.
Allowing the night to overcome the excitement of the day.

A wise Poet behold the beauty of the  woman.
Tried to describe the softness of her skin and the feel
of her warm sweet kisses.

The Poet must feel the burden of war.
A writer must taste and know death, poverty and suffering.

A empty journey leave nothing for the pen and the paper.

Writers are neither revolutionist nor a martyr.
Just observers.

Great Poets left us with real description of war.
Many died in combat in the old wars.
Their poetry was longing for home and the beautiful valleys of youth.

Best honor for a writer.
Have more Poesy written because of their words.

This poem is for my favorite Poet Dryden.
His words will never be forgotten.

"War, our consumption, was their gainful trade."

"What peace can be, where both to one pretend."
               (Dryden words.)

I tell the young writers.
Honor the old words.
Never be a naysayer to a up and coming writer.
We need more word-man and word-woman.

A real Poet love the word.
Written with skill or not.
Words written from the heart.
We need to read with a kind heart.

coyote, a fine penning...your words brought to mind the following poem from randall jarrell...

From my mother's sleep I fell into the State,
And I hunched in its belly till my wet fur froze.
Six miles from earth, loosed from its dream of life,
I woke to black flak and the nightmare fighters.
When I died they washed me out of the turret with a hose.

Thank you Mark. Need to thank the ancient Poet Dryden for some positive motivation.
Love the sentiment of this one...it gets to the soul of the "true poet". A true poet is not interested in fame, fortune, or even popularity (those things are nice, but they are not necessary), a true poet is one who writes because they need to write; writes because without words they would cease to exist. At least this is how I see it. Be humble as a writer...explore the universe in your words and thank the gods that anyone is willing to read your word, and fall to your knees if anyone is inspired by them. Humility, humanity... Well written, my friend.

Thank you Rene. Even the Poets of the past desire and kindness for the word.
Indeed we are the observers of life and the way we see things...often through rose colored glasses...makes the world a little easier to accept. Real poets embrace words....all words....not just the oft used ones. I can see you are a real poet and this write was a pleasure to read. Lydi**
