Forgive me

Forgive me

A Poem by Coyote Poetry

                          Forgive me

You are so far away from me and  I wish to see you.
The day seem longer and sadder.
The sun seem less warm and bright.
I didn't know you were my gentleness and hope in this wild ride.

Please forgive me for what I did to you.
I was young and foolish, learning the many ways to love.
I made the lover's mistake, not appreciating the gift of kiss and embrace.

I hope I didn't leave you with regret and negative thoughts of us.
You are a fond memory I cannot forget.
In the midnight hours. I whispered a wish for your soft hands tangling with my hands.
Kissing those tender and sweet lips till sleep stole our passion away.

I know our ending was filled with sadness and I wish your new beginnings are filled with
happiness and joy.

I learn too late. Ain't no sunshine when you are gone.

Wow, that hit hard. Very evocative and powerful, really stirs the feelings of unrequited love, and the enveloping sense of regret that comes over everyone at some point. I also noticed some Bill Withers came out in the last line there which was a nice touch. Great read!

John, you write with such passion, deep emotion, heart...the kind that touches people. This is sad, and yet so beautiful :)

Beautiful. I loved the flow of words in this one. It was an emotional piece signifying loss of love. And you showed that emotion profoundly. :)

Thank you Blackheart. I appreciate the comment.
Beautiful words of regret for letting a love slip away. Life is always providing lessons and some more painful than others. Well, Done.

I cannot think of a time when I have disagreed with you John. But these are not just words. They are like evocative music bringing back the sad sweet memories.
