Thank you for the dance

Thank you for the dance

A Poem by Coyote Poetry

Just words.

                                                            Thank you for the dance

My bare foot lady danced by the sea,
the moon is above and the stars are lighting up the night sky.
I watched her dance, joyfully and content to celebrate the song of the Pacific.

I told her,
dear Marcella, my love, my beauty, my joy.
Please make this night, never-ending.

She came to me and she brought me close to her and we danced,
our feet moving and touching the coldness of the sea.
I whispered to her,
thank you for the dance.

Beautiful Marcella smiled and she whispered.
One-two-three, one-two-three, one.
The dance is simple,
love is hard,
life can be harder dear Johnnie.
Today we dance for the Summer moon,
tonight, you and I,
alone with the sea and kind love is sweet.

I kissed her, long and sweet.
I whispered, thank you beautiful lady.

The moon smiled and the stars were dancing.
Two people danced for them and the night was blessed.

You had me at the first line! I wanted to know about this lady dancing in the sea, something so enticing about the free person. I love that you were then invited in by her, and the story continued to be light and positive and happy. Great read, thank you.

"The moon smiled and the stars were dancing."

I love how you personified nature as wondrous onlookers in admiration of this love. This dance seems even more dynamic than a tango; it's a dance of love. Looking into the eyes of your partner alone can cause a dizzying effect on the senses and one may feel as light as the cloud their dancing. Simply magical. Great read.

whats with a dance.... the sensuality, the allure and the mystery with each step done creatively and the moment to be savored while on the dance floor

Wonderful romantic ambience in these lines Coyote. I love the imagery of Marcella dancing by the sea in the company of the moon and stars. I can see the moonshine on the water. She danced for you and with you. I enjoyed the uplifting nature of this poem.
