As Long As The Grass Shall Grow

As Long As The Grass Shall Grow

A Johnny Cash song.

As Long As The Grass Shall Grow

He told the prettiest girl in his world,
thank you for staying with me.

I have been following you since the Summer of 1976 and
you allowed me to be part of your life.

In a sweet memory,
we made dandelion wishes,
for the splendour of love to keep us warm and safe, forever and a day.

I remember the sweetest girl saving me and
I tried to save her.

As Long As The Grass Shall Grow

I will remember the warmest kisses made,
the sweetness of your voice telling me,
we will be okay,
together we can overcome the bad days.

We have kissed and touched,
danced into the midnight hours and
you are more beautiful today,
then the shy girl of yesterday.

Thank you my kind lady,
you are my sweetest gal,
my daily miracle and I pray.

I can make you smile,
hold your hand in the morning,
drink morning coffee with you for many more wonderful years.

This is beautiful, Coyote. Love that multiplies and grows deeper with time is a rare treasure. Your description of that love here is touching and comforting.

I love the gentle and everyday ways you express it. From sharing a midnight dance to sharing morning coffee. The simple and romantic moments that keep the couple growing in love for one another. I think we all yearn for such a love.

I really enjoyed this.

The love story of Johnny Cash and his wife June Carter. I recall the film Walk the Line. Theirs was a true partnership. He was a handful in the early days of their relationship, but their love endured and grew deeper with the passing years. He adored her. I can imagine him singing these tender words to her. Beautiful they are. This is a fine tribute to them in your words Coyote. Loved him and she was great too when they sang together. They left a fine legacy of music for us to enjoy.

Very lovely sentiment here, dear Coyote. We must always cherish those we love and make sure we let them know just how valued they are as often as we can. When its just simple things like sitting and sharing coffee in the morning sunlight, you know you have reached a wonderful place of love and contentment. It's a very lucky lady to have such thoughtful words written for them and expressed so eloquently. More wonderful words here, my friend. Your quill oozes heart and love. Much enjoyed! :))
