I believe in forever once

I didn’t know,

love could hurt so deeply.

I didn’t know,

your beautiful face would haunt me forever.

I didn’t know,

love wouldn’t be enough.

I believe in forever once,

and now I know.

Love was just like a wisp in the wind.

Easily gathered and so quickly forgotten.

Your words here are so true, dear Coyote! It's the conundrum that love is; it takes us to enormous highs when we are in its grasp and crashing lows when we lose it. I am sure we all feel that our love will last forever when we take our first steps with it, alas it's not always written in the wind. Its wonderful but also painful, tormenting and haunting when it has gone. Your final line here sums it all up brilliantly well......so easily gathered and so easily lost and forgotten. I did so too. Then i discovered what love is and what it isn't. More feelings , the more you hurt. I think it as a beautiful experience and i left it there.
Life is much more than loving a whole person. There are a thousand more things to love and turn your attention into.
