                   Peace

There is a name for war and killing.
There is a name for giving in.
There is another name for war.
The name is sin.
There is still time to turn things around.
Make all hatred cease.
Give another name to living.
Call it peace.

                      Peace

My poor baby.
Daddy loved you so.
Gun are roaring loud and near.

I have prayed to the Gods for peace.
I asked Jesus to protect the child.
I  pray to the Great spirit of life to bring wisdom to our leaders.

I sat and prayed yesterday with a Muslim man.
We cry together for the death of so many.
Then we pray together for peace.

I stood in the great valleys and asked for help.
I pray to the sea for peace and calm.

Men believe they are safe when war is far away.
When war is the purpose of a great land.
War is always near.

My baby.
War is man's great sin.
His hunger to control and show no kindness.
It is greed and hate.

Borders may separate countries.
But with each death in war.
A flame of life is lost.

Could the flame put out by hate and violence.
Been the spirit to lead us away from our hatred and greed.

And that is just the thing isn't it love? People at war who actually sit down and talk to the supposed "enemy" often cry about the state of corruption and sadness! This made me tearful...you have an awesome open heart and mind...peace is something that seems farther away each day...but positive thinking can bring it around....non compliance to unjust laws...etc...awesome work love! xx

You would think after all this time, all these lives, all the destructiveness that we as human beings would have learned something. But greed and a closed mind continue to keep this world we live in a place of hostility and hatred. I still shake my head in disbelief that in the 1860's Americans were killing Americans, the 1960's Americans were killing Americans still for the same reasons. I see no evidence that it will be any different in 2060, here in America or elsewhere in this sick world despite all the hard work by many true lovers of mankind.

all gravy.
smooth and tasty. prayed with a muslim man and cried. Its little jabs in your poems like that that give them the ol' world wisdom, regardless of what the date was that was written.
There is also a fatherly kick here, like this was the first thing that baby heard, implating the seed of rememberance, almost in that subliminal way so when he grows up, the world would almost inherantly be a better place.

your stuff reads like burboun on a cloud
the rest of us just wait for it to drop

One often wonders when the day will come.
Peace is always on the tongue. One prays
for it; some day soon for all the wars to end
however, it's elusive at times.
beautifully expressed thoughts
and emotions it is so sad job!!!..
When will the sun light of peace shines?
It is time!

It was said that the Second World War was the last one but since guns have continued to thunder all over the world.
"Men believe they are safe when war is far away.
When war is the purpose of a great land.
War is always near".

Peace on, bro! Your piece, Peace has a softness that's shows
a strong contrast to war. Let's hope your words of wisdom
along with others who promote peace will eventually rise up
and overtake the notion of war! Thanks for sharing Coyote!
