Dream

Dream

A Poem by Crystal Overmeyer-Birmingham

I turn Sideways
and Squeeze though
the iron bars of reality
to slow dance with my dreams.
We twirl and spin
I cling to them as they send me heavenward
Closer than lovers
Our ways press into each other
As we move though a courtyard
painted by our whims.
I can barely move for the happiness
I wish to never leave!
but Alas I
Hear Someone
Calling
Calling my Name
from Beyond and I slip away again
though the bars
and in to reality.

imprisoned in our lives and in our minds, dreaming of squeezing through those dream time bars to the existence we wish to experience but having to return to 'reality' - such a great description of wanting more...

Very nice read and the line between reality and the hallways of your mind are clearly marked. Keep an eye on that mark and don't venture to far into the darkness that is the opposite of your reality.
Thanks for sharing I like it.

About
I am a poet by nature. Words just speak to me and color my world. I away think of poetry as painting with phases, just as vibrant and life giving as they are messy and complex. more..
