The Things Unsaid

The Things Unsaid

A Poem by Mazie
"

Another of my older ones. Sometimes friendship is better than nothing

"
How shall I break thee Heart, to hand away?
Diffuse by motion; one step, it fairs;
Emotion I can’t share in single waves
But give in ev’ry word, with ev’ry care.
Forgive my partial ways, but I am all of heart,
No unfair buds are meant to bloom from cheer,
To friend nor stranger by and far,
But friend’s affection I disperse all year.
And you did drive us so; at border-line,
An over step, each inch you dared to go.
Despite your tainted thoughts, both hearts pay fines,
For I was never false-a friend I saw-not show;
“Love lost” was never gained, though never lost,
Until you threw it all at Friendship’s cost.

You sound like an experienced writer, one much older. That is impressive. You seem to have kind of an older type style of penning. Very nice.

This heart remained untainted and pure despite the surrounding immorality and temptation !

Once more quaintly penned in fine traditional style, adding further to the mystic and gravitas of this pleasingly rewarding poem !
