Beastly Beauty

Beastly Beauty

A Poem by Tasha
"

Will Belle ever find true love despite her looks?

"
Everything is in its place,
the music,
the dress,
all except for my date...
because of my "beastly" appearance,

No one to dance with,
no one to talk to,
no one to make me feel beautiful inside and out
I'm all alone in this world...
without a soul  to protect me

Until you show up...

You came out of nowhere,
through the crowd
just to say hello to me
you take my hand, and we dance,
we dance as if no ones watching

You kiss me and I stare at you blankly,
I ask: "Why'd you do that?"
and he says: "I love you for whats on the inside, not the outside"

As we look into each others eyes
I remember what my mother always said to me:
"Inner beauty if far more beautiful than outer beauty."

I actually felt beautiful,
for the first time in my life...
and I hadn't been told a lie

I found someone to adore me
for me,
and for being just the way I am

Well planned poem. The scale is written clearly, it flows dramatically. Agree with your words too, "Inner beauty if far more beautiful than outer beauty". Now days, many people would only care on our appearences but not our personality. We need ot realiza that the way we look doesn't equals to that we're that kind of person. I love Beauty and the Beast, I learnt such a meaningful message here.

Some times we need to see ourselfs through the eyes of others. Love this piece!

Face value is so over rated, it seems in the long run
kind personality has lasting beauty of it's own
Not to many people leave there beautiful Christmas
packages wrapped, they are interested in what is
inside, sooner or later the inside counts!
you count in my book Ta'shandra,
takes more then a pretty package
to receive 50 reviews! on one poem good job!

Lovely narrative here, this reads a bit like a Taylor Swift song. It definitely gets the alienation point across, if I have one criticism (and this might just be my style of writing) it's that it's a little too obvious? There's nothing wrong with obvious poetry but sometimes it can be more interesting to insert a metaphor instead of telling us exactly what it is, if you know what I mean.

A beautiful poem! I really enjoyed it. What really counts is what is on the inside..not the face that the world sees. Sometimes, looks are just so unreliable in love. Well Done!

How lovely! Felt a bit mushy inside when reading this, well done! The whole poem reminds me of 'Miss Lonely-hearts' from Rear Window; anyway, great stuff!!

This is lovely, and yes everyone is beautiful on the inside and out. The media just screws it up with that whole "You have to be thin, have you hair a certain way and dress in these clothes to be beautiful" mentality.
Never let anyone tell you that you aren't beautiful because clearly they don't comprehend the true meaning of beauty.
Well done on a great piece.
