I Dreamed Myself To Sleep

I Dreamed Myself To Sleep

A Poem by Tasha
"

Writing prompt on being unable to sleep

"
I toss and turn all night
Because the thought of losing you
Is too much to handle
I grab the sweatshirt you gave me
From under my bed
And put it on
Just to have your scent on me
A scent I miss so much,
I hug myself because of the thought of you
I knew this was going to be the start
Of many sleepless nights,
I dream about all we had
And the love we shared
I curse myself for not trusting you
Its too late to apologize
He's already out the door
I'm all alone and its a terrible storm
As I dream myself to sleep
I dream about him forgiving me
And me running into his arms
Being as happy as we use to be
But until then I sit in his sweatshirt
And hope for the best
But until then I dream myself to sleep

I remember how powerful this "scent" you mention is, and for some reason girls I'm interested in smell great. I think they did a scientific study on pheromones and such but this poem really resounded with my life and how I carried things on back in the day, on the polar side of course.

This took you five minutes! This was such an amazing, beautiful, and solemn poem. I'm surprised this took only five minutes. This was such a wonderful read, and something I could relate to. I have ached for someone so much that I was unable to sleep as well. Constantly thinking about them until I fall into a deep sleep. Another great write!

Heartbreaking, beautiful, emotional, painful, and deep. An amazing write. I could feel the heartbroken person pour out her feelings in sadness. Love sometimes does that. It can build you up or tear you down. Great write. :D

Aww this is so heart wrenchingly sad, but sweet at the same time.
It's amazing what the mind conjures up when we can't sleep, I'm the same! A writer's brain never switches off, it seems lol.
Nice work! :)
