Evicted

Evicted

A Poem by Dani California

Love needy...

Exploring

Pouring

Out of my soul

Love

All of me

You can have it

Here, hold my world

I'm only asking

For true love in return

He studied me like a textbook...

Seeking love

Finding deception

Motives

Not governed by love

Steal my kindness

Weakness

Is what you read on its label

A dime a dozen

Is what you paid

What he got...

Grab my heart

Squeeze it

Until it bleeds

Don’t waste a drop

A never ending supply

Of my painfilled

Bloody tears

Is what you got

To wet your egotistical whistle with

Worth the cost ...

And it only cost you..

Nothing

You took the

Five finger discount

And I

Like the fool my Father

Didn't raise

Unknowingly relinquished

My unguarded soul

Ah, but wait!

The fountain…

That beautiful flowing

Healing fountain!

I must find it

I must …

For if I don’t

I will bleed to death

Internally

Eternally

And the "I" that I am meant to be

Shall perish

Prematurely

…..and I’m not done here yet.

I call out to the fountain,

My lovely healing fountain

Oh no…

My voice!!

Where is my voice?!

Can you hear me?!

I scream in silence

For years.

Head down,

Walking through life

One day

I stumbled upon a

Fountain

A beautiful

Clear, pure

Flowing, healing

Fountain

And it spoke to me…

“Drink of me,

Or you shall suffer

A spiritual death.

Your insatiable need to love

And to be loved …

Will be no longer.

Your purpose will be taken

It will spill from you

Causing a flood

And the one who truly needed you

Who is waiting to love you

Will drown.

So I drank…

The sweetest water I have ever tasted

A cool, clear, loving liquid

Glided down my throat

Into my bosom

My womb

My heart

Peace,

Strength

LOVE

Not external

Internal…

Clarity...

Perception

Changed its direction

And found the place

Where true love is conceived

Within

Where it has always been

Waiting

And now resides

Eternally

The previous tenant

Was a liar

And was evicted.

Loved the whole poem but the above lines were just exceptional. I think you have reached a new high. The energy in the piece is refreshing. And finding love within, priceless. Good job Dani.

WOW! Dani girl, this rocked! Don't you love it when you start something, think it's supposed to be one thing, then turns into something else entirely? This was beautiful. I love this line:
"And the "I" that I am meant to be
Shall perish
Prematurely "

That one caused me to pause a moment. The "I" that I am meant to be...Such truth and pain in that statement, for how many have denied themselves, themselves? This was a most excellent write. You could not have a better suggestion from Robin. Nicely done Dani!

This is quite unique and beautifully flowing piece of betrayal and healing...

And it only cost you..
Nothing
You took the
Five finger discount
And I
Like the fool my Father
Didn't raise
Unknowingly relinquished
My unguarded soul

These lines I found interesting as we sometimes against our nature do what we were taught not to when the heart rules the mind.

The whole fountain of healing is great concept... another brilliant write from you... Dani you are one of a kind.

This style/form is terrific! I love that the poem "just happened" and even better, that you allowed it to happen--that takes courage!
These lines speak to me: "And I/Like the fool my father/Didn't raise/Unknowingly relinquished/My unguarded soul" This (to me) is the crux of the first part of your journey, and the pacing there is perfect imo. I love following you onward, toward the fountain, toward "Clarity", and then coming upon the superb ending line....very satisfying!

This poem is powerful (your journey) and dramatic (your discovery and release) - a great write!

and it all fell into place so well and perfectly. That was the best landing I saw :)

Good form, good choice of words, good rhythm, good concept, well painted imagery, well imparted message.

A great piece :)

Well, it just happened rather well then, didn't it? Great write. And it flowed beautifully, like the fountain!

If this was the first poem of yours that I'd ever read, I'd be amazed at the wonderful way you have with words. It's not the first, but I'm still amazed at the way it flows, and the wonderful way you have with words. I feel honoured that you sent me the request to read it. Thank you...

This ... is rather amazing. A beautiful piece of introspection, revelation, enlightenment. Hopefully yours sticks with you longer than mine does me. Divine inspiration doesn't stick to a sinful soul. ;0)

Excellant job here. The first part was so sad but I am so glad you got to the fountain in time! I like the form and most especially the imagery, before you saw the fountain your head hanging down but after..."Into my bossom, my womb, my heart...Peace Strength Love...Clarity within...(sorry so broken up just trying to get in my favorite parts) wonderful job, a great read. :)
