A Poem by Donkey!

2004-10-09

I looked through your eyes with sincerity while you spoke your lies with honesty. Love is a risk we’re willing to take, but am I willing to put my heart at stake? I remembered our first walk after daylight, talking for hours it had seemed. I remembered that kiss goodnight, only to have woke up from the dream. Emotion and red tears overwhelming – nothing can stop my heart’s bleeding. Head lowered and smile upside down – am I destined only to die in this lonely town? Maybe someday I’ll end up with you, then you could take my loving cares, but until forever’s done love will remain unfair. If only I had nine hearts, I’d use them to get to you. Only to be ripped apart, if they failed to pull through. So I pray love will find me one day, then we could be together and I swear I’d go out of my way to make it last forever.

About
My poems are from when I was in High School. They're old and I was young, and probably could've been written with a better flow, so bear with me. I myself am currently enlisted in the Marine Corps.. more..
