Good Will

Good Will

A Poem by Jack Kennedy
"

Love It or Hate It

"
Forever away from her now
She just threw me in the trash
I miss the happiness I brought her
Now she has found another
I remember when we first met
One look at me from across the aisle
She jumped up with pure joy
She gave me a  real place to call home
There were others but I was the one
She loved me unconditionally and more
Until he came along and ruined it for me
Took all her time and attention
She eventually gave me away
In a bend I went, never to see her again
Off to the thrift store I was forced to go
With all the world's other forgotten toys
We all sit on the cold dark shelves
Our hopes and dreams shattered and broken
Just waiting for another chance
Wishing we could be loved and desired

I havent read "strung along" yet, but I will soon. On the surface this has a toy story theme and is a sweet sad tale, but the analogy with relationships works well too. There's truth in every line and you say it wit a good dose of heartbreak. Well done. Penny

I really enjoyed this piece of work Jack. I thought the portrayal of an actual relationship worked well with this piece... giving the toy life.
This is why I have a hard time letting go of things... I just have this sense that I am hurting its feelings, although I know the object is not real. Thank you for sharing this poem with us!

That was very beautiful , i know what you feel through this, as ive gone though the same, but i know that whatever we face it is just to make us know how much can we bare, and how strong are we,,
that is well done

Thanks for the review and the read!! :)
Terrific, terrific poem.

The first line. BOOM, tears. It got to me a lot.

Right now, I'm dealing with heartbreak, and it's just so....heartbreaking.

Loved this.

Thanks for the review! Glad you enjoyed this one.
Very, very well done. I always like your direct way of wording things that gets straight to the point. I suppose it is probably about a love relationship, but funny, it takes me back to feelings of abandonment I had as a child (fortunately I've dealt with all that now). Poetry truly can mean many different things to different readers and touch them in different ways.
