Reflection

Reflection

A Poem by Eloquently Erynne

"The world's a sad place, ya know"

She said into my empty skull

Her words echoing back and forth

I blink

Unsure or what she's really getting at here

Sometimes when she speaks to me

It's as if im being choked

I swallow hard at her

The truth is, she scares me

Because she is me

And her pleading thoughts are so hallow

Her scars are simple reminders

Of the battles shes fought

And the past she's overcome

But she still scares me so

Because my fear of being her

Comes from the fact that I am her

And this mirror image of self hatred

Turns me into a small pleading child again

And i'm begging for forgiveness constantly these days

But no ones listening

Except for her of course

My true reflection
