First Sight

Look deeper, look closer. Try to read between the lines, everything is so much more then what first meets the eye

There is always more than what meets the eye.

 If you look a little closer you will see.

A missing piece of the puzzle,

A door with no key.

Life shows us pictures, some are incomplete,

But if you look that much closer,

The picture is complete.

The funny thing is, it’s our feet that do the wandering,

But with so much out there to see, shouldn’t our eyes be roaming?

In a society such as ours, eyes are cast down,

People do not wish to see, the sorrow that goes around.

Life is full of chances,

Just lift your eyes and see.

A beautiful sunset, a magical rainbow, or simply someone smiling sweet.

You cannot judge a book by its cover,

Or someone by their name.

Everyone has a story, everyone has a key.

So lift your eyes and look around,

And remember to look back twice,

Often we miss, that which must be seen,

There is always more then what we first see.

You deserved the first Prize in that contest.This is GOOD. you played with the words nicely.The theme is real and wide.
If we all start looking deeper and closer then we shall all succeed but its sad,that can never happen.Some people were born to be less careful.

We seldom wish to truly see what is before us...or indeed behind us...and its that reason why we miss that key so often right before our eyes..sometimes we have to "just be" and "know"

Amazing thoughts about what we see on the outside compared to what we see on the inside. Just plain amazing. Beautiful choice of words, and such a nice structure of stating each idea one by one so it's easy to comprehend.
