"Mushroom Clouds in Magic Land" IN COLLABORATION WITH FRIEDA

i am missing Ms. Frieda and decided to re-post this poem which we did together .. i am so angry how one very nasty person was able to drive her from the Cafe :(

Mushroom Clouds in Magic Land

Tapped upon a mushroom cap's fancy,
      to see if the rabbit hole was rumor
curiouser and curiouser
     about the unimaginable avenue,

She opens my mind and
fear grips my colors
from the hinterland .....                   tremors
wink    
           and blink   
                              and nod

As I sat upon my newfangled gumption
   common sense took a recess,
 spoke in rhyme to the tune of absurd
     to my surprise, the scaramouch    
                 of a head talked back

my birthing in darkness
          musk and dank scent
knocks        my shroom
head explodes
            collide's scope intense

in his elegant persuasion,
made a date for half past daft
took me on a dip of a mystical carpet trip
 alas,  we've lived happily ever after
upon a prime floating island in a cloud

clouds of words
spilling like rough gouged stones in
tumbler's majestic insane
forever now i
 

re-pronounce her name

What a superb collaboration from you and dear, dear Frieda = yours are minds that walk the same space.. perhaps!

There's so much in this piece, the colour and highlights take the reader into a world of bewilderingly spaced.out somewhere. The phrasing you've used is another language, a magic not to be translated - and who would want to do that...all of us!

Lewis Carrol would undoubtedly want to join the two of you in another collab, happily sharing his enlightenment via any means - even holding the breath and flying off and away with the daisies. . Brava and brava again.. Loved this. Great musical accompaniment, by the way... ..

thank you so much emma! and certainly Frieda would thank you as well ... your read is certainly the way to do it ..letting go and enjoying the ride ..i do try to write in some of the classical forms from time to time ..because doing so (i think) improves my experience ... but poems like this one are my (and Frieda's) tendency ... i am so happy you enjoyed reading this ..and remembering our mutual friend

STILL and always will miss Frieda. She taught me how to giggle, curse, raise a pinky, talk insanities in Italian - and to be happy in any way that suits the moment. Frieda, wherever you are, come back, there are warriors here to protect you.. believe me.

Am meant to see this wonderful collaboration tonight. It is a much needed gift. Although we never met, Frieda and I were close friends: we even had our own Italian language, talked about pasts, futures, everything. Amongst the good and bad, she taught me how to stand up to much of the online silliness and.. ultimately the evil too. THEN, that darling woman, was hurt by it. I tried to keep in touch, but Frieda was too hurt to even come near this place. I've learned since how things happen in here, cliques and gangs and single manipulation -' happens everywhere these days.
Dear sir, many, many thanks for re.posting this collaboration. It still stands as one of the finest poem ever posted in the cafe. And, via you, will always be here. Em

Freida was a great friend to many here at the Cafe' and i am tickled that you, along with many, point out that line ... it is her's ;) glad you were drawn to read this one .. its abstract which tho i know you little .. i know you have an affection for that kind of thinking and poetry .. we had a fine time writing this together .. she left several years ago for personal reasons and is missed ... when people pick this one to read it brings me fun memories .. thanks so much!

ahahahaha ... not an easy thing to debate over a keyboard ;) i am crotchety and fixed here in my little cabin but if you ever travel to the Ozarks let me know ...we can while the day away on the deck ... and have wonderful discussions about "religion" or anything as far as that goes ... i can only say what i have found ..deep abiding comfort, assurance and peace in know God through the life and teachings of Jesus Christ His only real Son ... if a person seeks with brutal honesty ..God will be found ... there ... i have no doubt! ;) top o' the mahrnin' to ya gram!

starter for 10, E, the Old Testament is all fire and brimstone, an eye for an eye, vengeance and pain, the New Testament is an entirely different affair, almost like another philosophy, Jesus said Moses was the first great prophet, who possibly hung about Egypt at the same time of the Sun Ra cult, John The Baptist was not a Baptist, he was THE Baptist, also came from Egypt where Baptism was common for followers of Sun Ra, just a thought, lol

yes...Old and New have quite different directions don't they ... i think in either the rules are given to show us we can not fulfill them on our own ..and yes..the "Cradle" contained so many diverse civilizations ... some terribly barbaric in their practices :(((
