Father Nature -- a collaboration with Sleepless Volcano

Father Nature -- a collaboration with Sleepless Volcano

A Poem by Einstein Noodle
"

Mother can't take all the credit now ... can She? :o

"
Father Nature
He stretched out owly after a night rent
tempestuously over indulgent
A carbon hangover clutching his heart
Footprints of greed wound his green shoots with darts
Ethereal mint mists wash carbon prints
wine sulfur, drunk raging presses the hint
Bloodied, his fists, as they beat in the sky
Now crimson, this life source, never will die
puce ore of the mountain shaping His jaw
shaking core shift plates he opens earths maw
Like ants, all life shrieks with blood, sweat and tears
Oyster-grey smoke giving birth to fresh fears
grind glacial brows unfurling earth shapers
lost, green life, buried under sky-scrapers
Despite the torment of stark, rough handling
up from his knees, our earth is still standing.

If I were to imagine a good fit for a collab, it would be you two & this proves it. You both have a similar way of presenting your thoughts & ideas with "out-there" nuance. I love the way you use "carbon" & other pollutants in such mind-bendingly creative ways. I love your artwork & your words conjure up a similar visualization of how father earth might be feeling with all humans' abuse heaped upon him! *eeeek!* (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Hello, Einstein! :)
That's quite a morning stretch and a beautiful concept for a poem. The painting that you've chosen here is one of my favorites. I saw it about ten years ago at the Dali museum, here in Florida.

Einstein Noodle,
This was a good reminder; not to take anything in this world for granted! Our sweet earth where our hopes and lives are pinned. Very well constructed to bring me the reader right into your space which is the whole point I guess.........................You did this with someone else; Sleepless Volcano, Amazing to see!.....................Blessings to you Kathy.

Interesting concept. I love it when one comes up with something that makes someone say, "I never thought of that before," which you have done for me. A friend wrote a poem describing Death as a woman, and she told me where she lives that's the basic concept. That being said, it's interesting to read a poem about Father Nature. I enjoyed reading your description of him, the imagery of everything was amazing! Great work.

Very smooth collaboration! Argh...We're an awful bunch, generations of waste and consumption...greedy temporal materialism. Those last two couplets...dope! R xo

We are a self-destructive lot, aren't we? Smooth and consistent collaboration, so many great lines to choose from. I like them all but this one spoke volumes.

'grind glacial brows unfurling earth shapers
lost, green life, buried under sky-scrapers'

Bravo you guys!!

A seamless collaboration that handles humanity's destruction of the world in a unique way. Carbon footprints, melting glaciers, and skyscrapers. The imagery is stunning and that Dali artwork is the perfect accompaniment to your words. Great work. Lydi**

I love it! Mother nature isn't one to say (wait until your father comes home). Maybe we think we are all powerful "adults" and we can do as we please and manipulate the weather and act as if we are gods now...but mother will always have the last say. She will preserve and protect the core of all living things even at the expense of purging living things to do so.

I find it kinda funny I find it kind of strange, people see the planet dying and all we do is sit and gaze.

You can sing that line to the song Mad world if you like :)

ahh, a thought comes to mind, if the poets could physically change the world we may live in the lines of a lullaby, well that is the poets who focus on the bigger picture that is.

There are some that would argue that if you are going to rhyme you must not use singular in one line and then plural in the next, it's no longer a valid rhyme ... also I believe you poem here is one of strength and I feel words like 'would' and 'while' are not needed and by having them there at all simply drags away from the poem itself ... we poets need to sift, filter and then remove MOST words (something a chitter chatterbox like myself needs to work on).

How can it be our earth is still standing? we humans need to take our eveolution pills every day, twice a day in fact and make it a double dose, we seem to be slipping behind.

you guys make an excellent team ... nice one X
