September Rain

September Rain

A Poem by Fran Marie

September wrap your arms around me
     prepare me for the fall
with refreshing cool wet rains and breeze
    for soon Autumn shall call

Put spent flowers from August to sleep
Shine a September moon I implore
All that's been sewn is now reaped
'Tis time to close summer's door

Oh September, your sky is shy and sly
and I'm ready for what you tell
Lucky to be born under your stars
I fear I know you well

A month with two faces worn

    one of sun and heat

the other tells a tale of scorn

     one of coldness and deceit

For you're the changing of the guard

    this I shall always remember

and your morning rain falling in my yard

tells me it is now September

Personification is something I struggle with. You seem to be so comfortable with each and every style of writing you do! I love to read your work. It inspires. I like the line: A month of two faces....that is so unique and impressive. L O V E D IT!
I know each piece of work you do is sure to please every reader.
Cheers, lea
