Fear

Fear

A Poem by Gabrielle Henry

It trickles out of your mind
oozing like blood from the dark
tunnel of your ear
slithering down your throat
suffocating your vocal chords
killing the scream
rumbling in your diaphragm
its frozen hand jerks down
entering your lungs
engulfing each oxygen filled organ
with black rasping tendrils
paralysis sets in
each limb numbing and cold
your body turns black
and the pain becomes bearable
memories leak out in the form of
salty tears
as the blood pools
through the bullet hole
in the back of your head
