A Poem by Huw

Poets come

and poets go

poets aren't born

but poets die.

poets breath

but not in rhyme

the poets heart beats

but not in time

poets love

but not

without words

poets hate

profoundly

poets are lost

and hope that words

will find them

poets sometimes get found

then the whole world

will read all about it.

Poets write, and poets rhyme. Not in that order, and not every line. All new writers are welcome here, so post your scribble with no fear. Valentine

Your tribute to those who take part in poetry stands out among other poems I've read this morning. The particular art of writing poems is not always easy and most of us do it simply for the love of creating something from nothing.

This poem has positive poetic roots for the wordsmiths of today and tomorrow. I myself would like to be 'found', not so much by a literary publishing house, but by the community that I write within, for it is for them that I write, with a wish to inspire them to greater exposure. If an 'old salt' like me can write and be heard, then why not them?

If anything I write has an influence of others then I am truly pleased.

Thank you.

About
I've been commenting on someone's drawings for a couple of months and she asked if I was a published poet. It made me laugh because I'd left school at 13 years old and never completed formal education.. more..
