Its been 3 moths i lost my father & still couldn't get out of the grief . Lost inside his memories . Cry all nights, afraid of darkness , Started taking drugs to divert my mind and nothing could stop me ...

Sometimes we need think what the desperately missed darlings would want for us. Perhaps. Would they beg us to go on using whatever, sinking further and further and further down til there's no more 'down' to go? Not giving an alternative. We all know which is better. But okay... what would be begged for us? Their love taught us what.. ...

i hope you are ok
lkooking back over my long life (nearly60) dont feel it lol i have self medicated on many times with alcohol.
every time i lost someone either romanticall;y or through death or lost friends i self medicated
now that I am old (dont feel it) i have a heart condition caused by that alcohol alone
now my heart condition stops me from drinking but you can bet your bottom dollar that if i didnt have this heart condition i would drink after work with daily stressors with work etc.
but there is a pay off alcohol caused my heart condition, i now cannot physically drink, i dont miss it anymore, did for a few years, but the pay off is this I have to face my problems my losses with other things like prayer and relaxation and God.
i drank for years i lost my marriage and other things through it
its never the answer drugs or alcohol
its a paper clip holding the torn pages together till it brakes loose or falls to the ground along with the paperwork all messed up again

Hi Julie, Thanks a lot for your kind words and I too feel sorry on your health condition. I whole heartedly wish you a speedy recovery.

And to be frank about my situation , yes alcohol is not the right medicine for the loss of loved one . But Every minute of my life makes me think about my father , his memories are graved in my heart. Leading a happy life was never for me though staying alive with painful lump in my throat. Now I couldn't believe that the person who gave the best memories , became a memory 😭. I know I would be this if I lose my father & this wound is deeply routed into core of the heart , never heals .
