Apple red Scars

Apple red Scars

A Poem by Joshua Gerlach

The deep wounds may never heal,
even not with proper mending and treatment.

The scars will form red, and shine as I want them.

Crack the whip once more, my heart may break,
and cease to form again the scars that held it together;
Bright red, like blood, like an apple.

Excellently rendered with a magnificent, old-fashioned sentence structure.
