Deciding

Deciding

A Chapter by Charles Petrie
"

Soon a fight it seems.

"

"Yes, please Kobus, seek Noerdeber's permission for this, though the foolish human angers me and I will surely beat him down easily, his fire does himself...some small credit."

"You let a human rile you Gathis? I thought better of you than that."

"I know, better to be angered by the actions of Beredin than a mere human."

"Ha ha ha, true, Gathis, as aggravating as Beredin is, he is still a rabbit and better than a human."

"Yeah yeah, whatever. So you'll go see Noerdeber then? Anything is better than just cooling my heels in this damn cell."

"I would go see him Henry, but I am leery fo leaving you here with Gathis as he is." Kobus then turned to Gathis." "My apologies Gathis, but  I would not want you to give in to temptation and  do something rash to Henry."

"I'll go, what am I going to run away when I haven't the faintest idea where I am? Yeah right."

And both the rabbits laughed
But quickly looked at him
With a flash of anger

"So be it Kobus, though it is sure to incure Noerdeber's anger, I will go see him and ask for this fight."

"No Gathis, I will, anger aside, you will not fail in your duty to guard this foolish human, I will go and ask for this on your behalf."
