Tattooed?

Tattooed?

A Poem by Jessica Gillitzer
"

I am going to go get a tattoo soon so I thought I would write out my anxieties with the idea, and give it a little humor.

"

I sit in fear,

the dangerous idea ever so near.

I sit in wait,

I imagine the artist wielding this paint brush,

must be a creature of unspeakable hate.

Inflicting such pain.

Oh, this flower he now stains.

But I must remember I begged,

I paid,

and I sit in this chair plainly inane.

Surely I’m insane.

What has gone wrong between my mouth,

my actions,

and my brain.

This flower destined to bloom,

in such a creepy room,

But beauty is in the attitude…

Isn’t that why I came to get...

a tattoo?!

That was such a surprise ending! I really did not expect that and I love that about this piece. Describing your body like a flower being stained and then about to bloom. Beautiful. Good job.
