Tell me what you really think

I thank you 

for taking the time to read 

these words 

that have been proffered up from my soul 

and spewed forth into reality 

you will praise these words 

yet praise is not what I am looking for 

commenting without thinking 

does not help my cause 

it is your opinions I wish to have 

floating in my own eternity

so that I can weigh them up 

with what aligns

or smashes 

against my own

I ask you to think

yes think 

before you say 

oh yes this is great 

in a line a big such as this right here

it is ok 

I am very comfortable in my own skin 

I will listen with open ears 

to what you really think 

more than that 

I will appreciate the courage 

taken 

if you do not like what I have written 

and you tell me as such 

life is not always 

a walk in a field of sunflowers

it is real and harsh full of lessons 

and that is how we learn

so please do not la-di-da 

my writing 

for 

I am not interested in la-di-da’s

I want to know 

WHAT YOU THINK 

FEEL 

abut my words 

without fearing the consequences 

then and only then 

i shall release my inward smile 

and respect your thoughts forever

I see a lot of praise given on this site - which is lovely - but one can learn so much more when offering points for improvement. When you read something and ascertain in your own mind why you do or do not like something your own writing will improve tenfold. I encourage people to look for more in other's writing and express it ... this is how we can learn.

Tricky sometimes to know how much to reveal or not. Honesty is great when balanced. Writing helps release the inner stuff of our hearts and what we care about. Yes, it is about who we are and how much we feel is good to reveal. Bless you and it feels good to read you again after quite a while.

a porch step with the girl next door
and other times its a quiet walk
- along the street, beside
...just breathing and being -
sharing existence, thoughts, time.

I think who you are
has always shown through
