An Evening's Thought

An Evening's Thought

A Poem by KWP

gazing over my shoulder watching my past dissolve
lessons duly noted, within myself i find resolve
excitement starts to bubble at the future i do look
knowing what is to be done, it's not stated within a book
in the loneliest of walks
the steps the tiniest, i know
no chance to take it running
such a distance still to go
with this simple realization, the weight begins to lift,
like my skin flaking away, becoming lighter as i drift

every road lights the way
meeting others on this journey
looking through with own eyes
each has their unique learning
can i pass on this unleashed urgency

to reach the end of one's own being?
patience is the key
floating and accept the gift of finally seeing
