Drinking Life

Drinking Life

A Poem by KWP

We search for place

to know the known

and understand each moment,

Yet in constant motion,

we blanket in

existence and self-atonement.

And what is life?

What’s worth the breath?

The inhale and exhalation?

Our liberty?

Our choice of road?

Our dreamy expectations?

To breach the bounds,

to climb a fence,

and build a ladder to the stars,

to rip and tear

and shred what’s there

understand the nears and fars.

Tickle ourselves,

with worldly mirth

and giggle ’til we pee.

Bathe in

everlasting waters.

Come now, come bathe with me.

Let’s love until

it hurts my friend,

not worry, connotations

Let love consume,

burst at the seams,

and drink our own libations.

Come sit here friend,

acknowledge all,

the gentle breeze will set us free,

no solid touch,

dimension feel,

no start or finish to you and me.

What’s worth the worth?

Where are you now?

Where you are supposed to be?

Relinquish all,

the sweetness yours,

you always had the key.

I noticed in the listing of new poems you had posted something about Trolls and Hackers. When I tried to read it, I got a message that I had blocked you....which I have not. Not sure what is going on, but glad I was able to read this poem. The lyrical poetry of Wordsworth never grows old. If only we could "build a ladder to the stars".....with words we almost do. This is so lovely. Lydi**

thanks for reading sunshine X
Having wandered about and sat in the garden of Dove Cottage where the darling man lived.. and, about this time of year when daffodils were still blooming 'beneath the trees ' i knew and always have that whilst his poetry was less technical than many, he made our world then and now and forever more.. beautiful and musical.. and.. joy.to.the.heart.giving.

As is your poem, my friend. These words ring with sounds so wonderful: ' To breach the bounds, - to climb a fence, - and build a ladder to the stars, .. '

Need go find my ladder and.. God willing, that same sense of need and hold.

I really like this a lot, for many reasons. I also love Wordsworth. I was going through some old notes and found a note I had made during my college years studying poetry and found that I had originally scribbled that I thought he was to dated, his style, (remember I loved Whitman and Ginsberg then, still do). Apparently I reread him and saw that I had amended that note saying how very wrong I was. Makes me happy to see that and happy to read such a good work and tribute so very well done!

Wordsworth became the essence of nature's love in love of nature's blessing in so many ways. To sit and look at a flower (s) daffodils. Wordsworth could surely bring its nature out in a beauty of love. Like you have here WKP.

I truly love that first stanza. Wonderful!

your view of life and love is amazing Bossette, I'll turn that key with no second thought and enter the endless being of God where we reside now and forever, what bliss we will all share on the day to come that is today now, I love the paradox of everything and you too my friend X

This sounds so richly romantic. Valentine

The key is indeed within the self...acceptance is not what people think at times...much less complex than thought I would say...lovely wandering through affirmation of existence :)

Beautiful poem, KWP, good meter. What's worth the worth if it's Wordsworth, a great deal I think. Love it. :) Rudi
