Divine Aspirations

Divine Aspirations

A Poem by Twilight

All people should aspire,

to aims which are higher,

than creating wealth alone,

We have always striven,

without misgivings,

for titles, ranks and grades,

What of love, morality and friends?

I shun the vacuous trends,

which bind my fellow men,

Like an arrow in flight,

I know that I'm right,

and prepared to fight!

For the righteous faith,

of the Christian crowd,

our thoughts and beliefs are sound,

Save status for the hounds!

I appauld you for the stand you take and adamently agree with you on every word. To have titles, money, fake friends and costly estates will in the end get you no farther than a cold damp grace or mausoleum. But to gain in virtues and friends through simply being yourself will see you to the grave, but carry the soul
beyond. If you cannot take a stand for good and the religious ways that one chooses to persue, then what use is it to stand for anything? The trendy ways are mere fodder for the cattle they have become. To choose to abide in the love of the christian fellowship is the path to glory. As we know you will not take the material things with you and those that follow these trends will not have a soul to succeed them. A poetic work not long on words but tremendously packed with meaning. Your poetic pen did you great service with this work.

Yes, I completely agree with this. It's rare to find people like you these days who truly fight for what they believe in and strongly stand up for what they mean. False pretenses and the like are of no use to us when we do reach our graves, however life without friends and without meaning and without something to believe in... Is sad. Great work, not just some random poem, but it oozes with deep meaning.

Great job! Oftentimes we try and accomplish things to gain a title or to make people think we are the greatest thing ever, when we should be a servant, building relationships with others. That is when people will respect us. You did a great job conveying this in your poem. I always have liked your work, and this is no exception. It had great flow, and an even better message. Again, GREAT JOB!
