Chicken Delimited

Chicken Delimited

A Poem by Lucinda Bogart

Chickens and dumplin’s

It’s always somethin’
That gets in the way of my rhymes

The job or the family
Sleep or progeny
Perhaps I could buy me more time

Enough is enough
I’m done with your stuff
Says the keeper who sounds the chimes

No says I
I’ll give you the sky
Or sell you this poem for a dime

What a cute little diddy. Progeny is a fantastic word!

I really like the pattern here - AAB CCB.

Great work in a small package. Thanks!

This poem is great! I got a good laugh from it. I liked that it wasn't really serious although I guess someone could consider it serious. I loved it!

Fun, fast paced flow...love this! Very nicely written! I am so glad I stumbled across this! Your title, my dear, to be honest is what drew me in! haha Excellent write, right down to the title! ;)

Ah I know that monster-I know him well. The same ills often darken my door and the same choice is placed upon my table.
