Little Shadow

Little Shadow

A Poem by Leigh
"

"Every frightened little shadow dreams of being a golden strand of light"

"

I am a little shadow
In the land of grey and
black
I drift between the trees
Among the dark shadows
So shadows be still
Don’t drag me down

I wait for the night to end
When the first of light comes
Then I can be free
To dance and play
As a
golden strand of light
High up in the air above

I will make beautiful colours
Shimmering on the water
Reflecting on a window's glass
Making pretty patterns
Until the night comes again
So be still dark
shadows

This felt light to me, like a playful nymph darting about in the daylight. Popping under this and throughout the day playing hide and seek without care care in the world. Nicely penned!

i have to say that , at first, i was loathe to conceive the idea of a shadow becoming playful light during the daylight hours, but....the more i thought about it (and i gave it a great deal of thought) the more the whole concept appealed to me. why not give a shadow life and spirit other than those dark moments in the dim lights of night? this is beautiful and unique! i though of the long shadows of evening when the sun is setting and i was hooked!!!!

there is something wonderful about this one. A little gray shadow having aspirations of light....and color. I was drawn to this one. Well done.

has the strength to endure the night and shadows and then prevails when the sun comes up. the ending has hope.

A lovely example of personification and of the little shadow that lies within all of us.

The Gods of Asgarth may have managed ' Ragnarok ' in much the same way, staying away from excitable causes until the light returns. The Indic turned over the phrase and called it an exile in the jungle so that he may have something to do in virtual obscurity. In the city our eyes dim a little shutting out the light. Nice write Leigh.

Thanks for your review
Wow! And awww! A little shadow seems like the cutest and most unusual prospect to write about and when a concept like that is so beautifully penned it just creates a masterpiece like this. Salute to u Leigh, i absolutely loved it:-D:-D:-).
