Still Life

Still Life

A Poem by Leslie Philibert
"

for Benard Meninsky

"
dark fruit
hard and autumnal
beyond grey

be empty
to perfection
devoted to silence
in all things at home

i especially like the line 'be empty to perfection'.....the poem sounds like a mantra...thank you for sharing :)

she taught me the word 'equanimous', and i have been disappearing ever since...the old masters left us much to finally not think about

i feel like i'm beyond grey...i really like the last stanza...it is like saying give yourself up to perfection and in silence there is a certain perfection....as we just savor what we have...no need for words to express...we shall just grow autumnal.
