In Love With A Song

In Love With A Song

A Poem by Karina Longo

Can't think about the future
They say you can't guess it, you see
How come then that I already know it
You won't be there to share it with me

The fog and the fire they hurt with
The same everlasting intensity
A winter black night or a sky so bright
Don't make any difference to me

Too much talking, too many smiles
Lack of truth is just another detail
Actions and sadness shamefully withdrawn
What a lovely fireplace you have
In your splendid living room
Is there where they burnt all your deepest desires
And you've tried to leave the cold inside so soon?

You're married with kids, I know, and for a real long time
But then again there was a day
When you were just another lonely guy
You gave me a piece of paper,
said it was a song you wrote to me
Now there are some consequences,
I'm in love with a song as I can't be in love with thee.

You can't be in love witht he song without feeling something for the creator.Might not be love but think about it.You want to defend and protect the creators of great music.I love the poem but I know that she still loves the writer of the song evn if his destiny is sealed without her.

Great wisdom inside your last lines.. Well written with that oh so touch of deep sadness, for to love one that is taken is a love that very rarely comes to ever be.

Bravo on this!

Uh-oh! True that, 'splendid'. Thanks! ;)

A variation of rhyming schemes and not. It does nicely in some places, but not so well in others.

It's still a great poem. I can realllyy identify with it--truly depressing stuff. I'm glad I read this.

Explendid isn't a word, though. Figured I'd point that out.

This was sad, sweet, and touching. I really liked every part of it. Great job.
