Serenity

Serenity

A Poem by LivingDeath
"

I decided just to just go out and sit in this meadow, I probably sat there for an hour and a half just sitting in that one spot writing this, and this is what I wrote.

"
I sit amongst the green grass fields
a breeze blowing through my hair,
the blades of grass sway with the songs
of the chirping birds.

Little kids laugh and jump and play
down by the tire swing,
a little clear stream flows down below
as the sun begins to fade.

Two little rabbits come up to me
against the warming sun,
outlined by the rays of gold
they dash off once again.

A sparrow flies from the trees above
and lands right by my feet,
it picks a worm right from the ground
and hops into the trees.

Flowers spurt out from the grass below
and surround me in their scent,
the yellows and the reds complete this moment
of serenity.

Author's Note

LivingDeath
I recommend to everyone, just go out and take a little bit of time from your busy days to just sit in a meadow or forest for a period of time. It is so relaxing and can be quite surreal with what can happen.

I know this feeling, and you are right, it is quite relaxing and amazing. This poem is really great. You give the readers the exact image with your words which is wonderful. I really enjoyed this poem. I wish I had a meadow or forest near me, I'd be there every day. Check out my poems Wintry Bliss and Silent Night. Those are from just sitting, staring, taking in the beauty, and writing. Beautiful write.

LOVELY IMAGERY

my only question is in the last stanza, "flowers spurt" , do you mean squirt or sprout maybe? Spurt sounded a tad off...
Overall, Good job with this.
