A Poem by living lavender
"

a silent prayer

"
poisoned by passed requests
she wears a smile and does her best
barely hanging on today
another person - another test

this one won't be different
it feels the same but incoherent
how can someone be this way
i feel like his personal patient

loving me with effortless reprise
never serving me any lies
honey drips from his soft lips
but i am too busy staring in his eyes

the unwavering admiration
the screaming confirmation
i can't help but long to be
everything to him without hesitation

i continue to pray selfishly
wondering if he will hear my plea
a cry for something more than before
for someone to belong to only me

I don't think it is too much to ask for...
I like how she speaks of herself in third person, and then switches to first. Almost as if she had tried
to distance herself from who she is...trying to hold back from just giving all of herself to him when it feels not reciprocated sincerely.

screaming confirmation--I love that so much. It really speaks to something specific and overwhelming about falling for someone. Also another person - another test--profoundly put the feeling of being one wrong move away from losing someone's interest. I enjoyed this perspective of wanting to find a safe place to lower your guard. Very nicely written.

You are very welcome
for someone to belong to only me

That last line says it all. The devotion of one to another. Who wants to share and spread thinly.

Great write lavender.

There is nothing more eternally beautiful in literature than tragedy. It is the essence of what makes love a reality. No matter the potential heartbreak or the indefinite amount of time one would spend waiting for a reply to their love requests, the heartful attempts are themselves worth admiring and remembering. They stir and grasp the heart strings of the readers, to which compel us to feel the undeniable arousal of sympathy, and a wicked desire to persist hearing that maiden's love melody.
You have done well crafting the work, author living lavender.

'personal patient,' huh? an interesting addition.
