The Young Pianist

The Young Pianist

A Poem by Blue Moon Ice Cream
"

The title pretty much sums it up.

"
A dainty palm
Innocent, unlined
Curved to smile at the keys
Sees no harshness in the sharp white and black
Imagines no somber chords from the weathered old friend
A confident touch
Simple melody flows
Floating to the ceiling on angelic wings
A mere span of seconds, the ditty's short life
Yet delight lingers in the eyes
Of all who pause to lend an ear

Author's Note

Blue Moon Ice Cream
I wrote this at a piano recital. For some reason, hearing the sound of a piano always inspires me.
