Overly Dramatic

Overly Dramatic

A Poem by Luke L

Man I'm so overly dramatic
I know, sometimes I laugh at it myself
To write without making it more special than it really is
It's hard
That's the ego right there
To make these dull grey rocks and rusted scraps of metal
Shine like diamonds and silver
It's hard
Not to do it
Because the ego tells me to
Draw that attention towards me
Look at me look at me
To just paint it how it is
To not make it special
I make fun of it
But sometimes I guess I enjoy the drama
To make it more enormous and exciting
You don't bore us to skeletons
We're hungry for some bullshit
We don't want reality
We want hyper-reality
All the best pieces distilled and then magnified
I'm the actor on stage overacting
I'm trying to stop myself, be over acting
But the dramatic is so enticing
The cake is just some kind of bread without the icing
