Pay The Rent For Now

Pay The Rent For Now

A Poem by Luke L

Well I can't never stop
Just take time off
It's just a breather
Because sometimes I forget to inhale
And the old air in the lungs gets stale
And my hammer gets a little rusted
To smack down these rusted nails

But I'll keep coming back again
Out of madness
I am the creator
For better or worse
I'd like to spend all my days creating
Making my living that way
F**k my current job
No disrespect to those who love it
It's just not for me
I'd rather find a way I love to feed myself

So I keep coming back to create stumbling in
Randomly
Have these moments of clear inspiration
That keeps me going going going
I could go on forever
But I guess I have to stop
And pay the rent for now

Yes, this is how so many of us feel, yet I think most people are just too prideful to admit that we don't know what we want to do in life and that we aren't happy with where we currently are.... Sometimes though, we just have to suck it up until we discover what it is we truly love. :) wonderful wonderful write. I'm liking the styles of these few new poems you've posted!
