Denim Bottle Collector

Denim Bottle Collector

A Poem by Luke L

Man I'm a lonely
Lonely boy
Keep me company
I can't afford any toys
Bags of bottles I carry
Jangling is so much noise
Welfare check doesn't cut it
I need my gut filled

Amazing to see
How I get fat on scraps
I guess pig feed is cheap
I take naps
Can't really get to sleep
My curly grey wool
Isn't made of sheep
So let me sit around
With instant noodles
Found friendship on tv

And I'm up and down this elevator
Up and down this ride
I wish it would stop
I can't get on my feet

And I'm up and down this elevator
Up and down this ride
I wish it would stop
I can't get on my feet

Ah, the feels on this is so despondent and so reeling that when we look at a person's life and think we're never going to be them somehow we crawl slowly into becoming that person unknowingly. Its reality at its intoxicating monotony in a way this cycle is so vicious that it's deadly! Someone said that if we think that taking an adventure is too risky then having a routine is deadlier! We ought to confide not only with ourselves but with the way that when tomorrow comes we won't be another Sisyphus, Prometheus or some couch potato on another apartment. So deadly and so sad that it reminds me that even hamsters know when to stop spinning on their wheels and just go out to have some food and water then run around to be with their family. That's what it should feel like.

Sent by Miss Pryde here and yes this was a sad but beautiful piece no matter. :)

So very sad, this state of affairs that allows people to live on the street, begging for scraps as the Mercedes and Lexus drive by without even noticing. Very nicely penned, just very sad.

It breaks my heart that anyone lives this way. You pen this state of hopelessness and tragic loneliness simply but poignantly. Wow!
