The Chemical Ride

The Chemical Ride

A Poem by Luke L

I wake up cold hollow empty
Feeling fresh ready and willing
The salt I absorb in water
Starts me up gets me going
Still cold

The boiling coffee
Blended with oil
Opens my eyes wide
Fills my core with heated
Energy
Sparkling and firing neurons electric
Connecting unfettered

As I leave my apartment wander into
The darkness
Of the cool oven
Before the sun turns the knob to cook
The fan of the temperature
Sparks me further
Skin compressed with cool
Insides awake with heat

I move energized energetic
Through my tasks
Loving the feel
Of a hollow belly
Lubricated with mineral water
Energized by the fat that burns slow

Relaxed and in the zone I'm empty
Ready
Feeling the energy of the Universe
All these ideas float around me
Ready
Ready to be picked like earthy apples on trees
I can absorb them all
Manic energy, but the feel is good

My limbs and flesh feeling great
Until I intake
A snack of solid foods
Which I eat like a fat slob
My stomach beckons
I can't stop
I can't stop
The sugars sweet and tart
Atop potatoes and corn
Food is like porn to a glutton
I can't stop the masturbation
Till the guts are bursting
Now all the energy gone
Clouded
Dizzy

Riding high I balanced out my human potential
Shoved a stop sign into crude gravel
On my road, stopped the manic beauty
With diabetic coma
